Too Many SkillsNEW by: Just Me
It's strange how law enforcement can profile just about anyone; anyone but an abuser. These men somehow have a habit of being able to make anyone in the world believe that they are a saint, and that you are the one who has a problem or is the trouble maker or abuser. Part of the isolation process sometimes, is to make you seem uncredible, to everyone they know. My abuser was on drugs, an alcoholic, a cheater, and when he lost control was one of the most violent people I had ever seen as far as the severity of the force he would inflict, he didn't slap, he punched like he was in a bar room brawl. In 2009 I got black eyes for Christmas, that people even seen, but still he had everyone convinced that I was the person described above, not him. Sick.

Excellent Skills for Sure! by: Jennasy
Batterers are full of skills aren't they? Their manipulation tools go hand in hand with the guilt, loss of self esteem for their victims. It is unfortunate, how victims are gradually broken down by their batterers, and then left in many cases to blame themselves for the batterers behaviors.

Thanks, Suzanne! by: Anonymous
I admire your work on behalf of DV--radio,appearances, writing, kids, etc.--spreading the word and the example of a different life.
If my agent ever sells my YA novel, SHELTER, I'll let you know! I think it will help kids and adults understand DV and realize it's not so easy to "Just leave!"
Good luck with all your work. Pat

Batterers are no dummies by: Anonymous
Extremely well-written, thank you for publishing that. I will refer to some of those points during my Wednesday radio series on BlogTalk Radio.
I hope we can stay in touch to join forces with all involved, from victims to survivors, children, parents, siblings, partners, counsellors, principals, bosses, etc... it affects SO many lives.
